If you want a true "100 cc" saw, the 2100 husqvarna is the saw, if you ar willing to round to the nearest 3 ccs, a nice 7 series mac will make you smile, but only under certain conditions. Thoes old torquers won't be runnin the show untill you have them in aboout 50'' of wood. If you are going with a one saw plan and getting into 24" wood, the 362 is the obvious choice. 50cc saws are nice, but only if you have a 70cc+ saw to handle the bigger stuff. A 60cc saw is a good one saw plan for most users, a 50cc is not.

This saw was new when I first used it on this tree and in my humble opinion the Echo was worth it's weight in gold. Some specs of interest. The model # is CS-440 it has a 45 cc motor and an 18" bar. On the 036/034 I don't like going any bigger than a 16" also. The 5100 seems to feel really good with the 18" on it. I generally prefer an all around saw in the 4.5+hp range. On a 24" bar with a 4+hp saw they don't hold up real well in the tough cutting. Fine for softwood. I will keep using them on the smaller saws.The main differences are the "dished" piston and the much more restricted muffler of the 261. The clutch is also different - weaker on the 261. Theres a thread on here that Lakeside53 did on modding the 361 muffler. See if you can find it. It's an easy mod and works pretty good. Me, I like to uncrimp the muffler and pull the whole baffle system out of the muffler.
