I was wondering if there are any mods that more experienced owners consider essential and obvious first steps. Also which have been the most popular, but less essential. jamx. My opinion is buying these assemblies OE is a crazy waste of money on a 13 year old vehicle with 130k miles. RockAuto has fronts complete strut assemblies for $105-ish to $150-ish, and rears for $70-ish to $110-ish. I would avoid the cheaper parts that are listed under "Economy" in their catalog though.

If you read through to page 5 you'll see the method was modified later on. The spacer goes on top of the strut top-hat, so it sits between the body and strut. The Ford Transit Connect is frequently mentioned as a potential replacement. Lots of storage and low load height. Sliding doors too! But, it doesn't have AWD, clearance, or the versatility of the Element. The rear seats in the Element and box shape allow for lots of easy loading options.All you would need is the upper plastic portion of the rear door where the seatbelt comes out, the seatbelt itself from the door cavity, the little plastic slider piece that rests in the upper door panel, and some little odds & ends. $16 for door panel. $30 for slider piece. $148 for seat belt.
